How do you know when to re-pot a money tree?

I just read the other questions and answers about transplanting a money tree and I understand how. I was just wondering how do you know when to transplant? When I purchased mine it was in a egg shape ceramic style planter and it’s been growing great for about a year and it still looks great, but it has definitely doubled in size. Thanks.

The roots will be nearly as long as the plant. This means it will take up more and more soil until it just can’t anymore then it will stop growing, leaves will turn brown, it won’t be as healthy looking.
