Why are my toenails yellow?

Some nail polish can make your nails turn yellow. It happened to a friend of mine. I’d stop wearing it. Nail polish isn’t good for you.

•1 Giving your nails some time off from nail polish will help to get rid of yellow fingernails. Yellowing is often caused by staining from wearing darker nail polishes. Over using products can also make your nails brittle.

•2 Soak your nails in lemon juice or white vinegar. The acids will help to get rid of yellow fingernails.

•3 Make a paste from baking soda and water and apply to nails. Let sit for 30 minutes to an hour then rinse with warm water. Baking soda has a natural whitening effect and may get rid of yellow fingernails.

•4 Try using a whitening toothpaste on your nails. This will have a bleaching effect to get rid of yellow fingernails.

•5 After any of the above steps, apply moisturizer on your nails to avoid making them more brittle.

•6 To avoid brittle yellow nails in the future, apply a clear nourishing base coat under your nail polish to protect against the nails becoming brittle and yellow.

Finally, go relax with a nice pedicure and that will give you a fresh start!

Why is it, that just about every time you answer a question…your answer is not from you, it is from another website. Why do you keep copy and pasting just about every answer you give? Why don’t you give original advice…that is in your words, that comes from your head and heart? Honestly, it is getting very annoying seeing “noticeable” copy and pasted material, all the time…from the same few people.

Angelee, with a question like this you don’t need heartfelt advice, you need facts. I think it’s appropriate given the situation.

I’m sorry… I just feel like if people just copy and paste from other sites like ehow, and wikihow…what is the point in people coming to FunAdvice for their answers, when all they get is the same answers they would have got if they went to another site. I am not trying to be mean.
