What are your thoughts on the U.S. and U.K. military ban of EA's new game?

Recently, EA has announced a new game in the Medal of Honor series that have been popular for the last 11 years or so. Unlike most of the previous games, this one takes place in Afghanistan where you play a team of highly elite U.S., U.K., and NATO troops. To add to this, the game also lets you play as Taliban troops and allows the ‘killing’ of U.S., U.K., and NATO troops.

Upon hearing this, those bases in the U.K. and U.S. have called for a ban of this upcoming game in ALL on-base stores. You can still get the game off-base though. The commanders of these forces describe the feature as unethical and a slap in the face to those serving in those areas. Some individuals feel that it is too soon for the game to even come remotely close to the Afghan tension in games.

What are your thoughts about this ban? Is it good or bad? Do you think those military forces have an obligation to ban this game on base shops? Tell me how you feel about this. :)

War is an extremely real and horrific thing and I don’t support any games like that. War isn’t a game and I don’t really think it should be taken so lightly.
