There were toilets in EARLY Roman and Egyptian societies, but the modern flush toilet system was designed in 1596 by John Harington.

he didn’t invent the Toilet. He was was a plumber who founded Thomas Crapper & Co. in London and he increased the popularity of them because of how he developed the “ballcock” which is to stop the water overflowing.
