I know it's different for every salon, but are tattoos generally 'accepted'? I'll be working in a salon next year and i've always wanted tattoos, but I don't want a wrist tattoo be the reason why i didn't get a job.
I've studied and worked in the hairdressing industry, and tattoos are EVERYWHERE. It's not a big deal at all, everyone in this industry has them. It's one of the few industries where you can have your tattoos out, piercings in, crazy hair styles... and it's actually part of your job!! Obviously anything rude/offensive/vulgar will have to be covered up.. don't get anything that could offend somebody. But generally.. tatts are fine, and actually encouraged lol
Being a hair/makeup specialist whatever it is your doing in the cosmotology industry is a form of art, so is tattooing so it "not" being allowed in that industry is a little contradicting don't you think? If you want a tattoo, go for it! There are PLENTY of salons who will hire you.
yes, it is apart of your beauty/style and may actually help you get clients who have similarities/admirations to your choices
