T-cup dogs!

Is there a website for t-cup dogs for sale/adoption that you can refer me to? I prefer one that is not a puppy anymore (1year or older).

I appreciate your time and comments.

OK - I hate to burst your bubble - but I just “inherited” 2 Chihuahua puppies.

And, sorry - long answer! :)

I was at some petstore, browsing through their mags, and I bought the Chihuahua mag.

It said THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP Chihuahua. They’re normally the runt on the litter, and people SAY they’re TEACUPS, but they’re NOT.

I just don’t want you to get ripped off. Breeders charge out the as* for the small Chi’s to be called a “teacup.”

Talk to a vet about what I’ve told you… if you look online, I’m sure you’ll find answers going back and forth…

Don’t get ripped off!

If you need anymore info from me, or just have any questions, (since my twins -dog twins, that is) please feel free to contact/email me - I don’t know exactly how this site works…

Actually, I just dug up the article in that Chi mag… it says this…

“Very tiny members of the breed are often referred to as ‘teacup.’ Chi’s or sometimes referred to as ‘toy’ Chi’s, but those terms are marketing ploys rather than actual varieties. Be wary of breeders who use these terms. What they’re doing is advertising what is essentially the runt of the litter, as something special or valuable. What you may get instead is a dog w/ health problems and a shorter than normal life span.”

The CCA does not categorize the Chi by size, just an afternote…

Hope this helps some.

I got my quotes from the mag “Chihuahuas - All about America’s Favorite Dogs,” it was on page 12, and it’s Volume 8, second edition, for the mag. I bought it at Petsmart. I’m sure any petstore, though, would have it… Try to find the version I told you I just recently purchased, so you can directly see that I’m not trying to blow smoke out of my but* :)

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME AND OPINION.

I’ve been a huge fan of petfinder.com for years now. I ended up adopting a 3 1/2 lb. Pomeranian (1 yr. old) from a personal owner who had just found out that she has cancer. Note: petfinder.com has everything you want in there, but the tiniest dogs are in extremely high demand; your chance of getting one is 1 to 20.

Princess Angel’s (my Pom) picture is posted here so feel free to take a look. I understand that there is no such thing as a “t-cup” dog but many people refer to the runts as the “t-cup.” Thankfully Princess Angel is in perfect health, is smart, and sweet as an angel!

Again, your time is greatly appreciated.

Visit petfinder.com

Just enter your zip code and then visit the “view all breeds” list..it allows you to make your search based on age of the dog also. All of these animals are for adoption, they give you a history of the animal, all have their shots and are already spayed/neutered and many are housetrained. It is a great site with all rescued dogs and cats. The adoption fees are very low, especially when you compare the price to purchase a dog.

Remember, don’t buy…adopt!

www.petfinder.com - great because you can choose a breed, gender, and age. www.puppyfind.com-great for puppies. or you can just google “teacup puppies for sale (your area)”

I just got a pug puppy from petfinder.com, they are the best in my opinion!
