My boyfriend has a breathalizer in his car. I've been with him all day and know he had no alcohol in his system no mouth wash nothing with alcohol He was chewing sugar free gum though when he blew into the breathalizer and his breathalizer failed twice Any clue what could cause this?
I would get him to call the company that installed it. When i had my breathilizer in my car the sensativity on it was insane...it picked up everything, mouthwash, mouth freshner spray, and sometimes it would fail me if i had just taken a sip of a drink (non-alcoholic) or had eaten somthing seconds prior to blowing in it. I couldnt eat or drink anything while i was driving and i cant count the number of times i was late for work because my mouthwash and toothpaste made i fail me and lock me out.
Thank you, he did and they said some gums can set it off along with cologne among many things.
