Can I sue my mom if she has been using my name for credit cards, etc?

Answer #1

Legally, yes … but if you had a relationship with your mother up until now, suing her will effectively destroy it. Is this not something you can discuss with her?

Answer #2

I am pretty sure, that you can! :

Answer #3

If she is using your name to establish credit this is identity theft. If she is hurting your credit or leaving you liable for her debts you need to put an immediate stop to it. I know a young woman who’s credit was ruined by her parents. Her parents ruined their own credit then opened accounts in her name and ruined hers as well. In this case the young woman agreed to let the parents to get credit in her name because they promised to repay their expenditures but didn’t even make the minimum payments for many months. It takes years for your credit report to recover from things like this so you need to do whatever you have to do to protect yourself including going to law enforcement if your parents do not cooperate.

Answer #4

yes, you can get your money back through legal action which more than likely will put your mother in jail.

Answer #5

yes you can, if you didn’t give her permission to use your name as said before it’s ID theft, but just tell her to stop using your name or you will sue her cause it’s just putting you in debt and give you money problems and just get her to pay you back all the money so if your in debt then you can get how. other wise unfortunley it the best thing to do cause even though she is your mum she doesn’t have the rights to do this to you and later on in life it could effect you a lot.
