How to be less stupid in math?

Ok so I am stupid in math. I’m not exaggerating like I’ll almost get all awensers wrong in tests that make me go WHAT THE BEEP!! I study do my homework and go to tutorials but nothing helps!! I am passing all my classes with 90’s 80’s while math is a 60 50!! Argh I’m so frustrated!! How can I be less stupid? Seriously I’m getting depressed because of this

Answer #1

Stay after school and have one on one time with the math teacher and go over what your getting wrong, find easier ways to do problems ect.

Answer #2

I’m pretty sure that some people just aren’t as math inclined as other people. I know lots of people like you, brilliant in most subject, but lost when it comes to numbers. It doesn’t mean you’re hopeless, it just means it’s something you will have to work hard for. Just because something isn’t as easy as everything else you do, doesn’t mean it’s not worth it, it just means it will feel more rewarding when you finally get through it. Keep studying, and practicing, practicing math is the best way to learn it. Ask for help, there are plenty of little tricks in math that you don’t know and that people might be able to teach you.

i think u need to speak to ur counselor about choosing a lower math class than ur doing.. I was like this in college lol i had to do a 6th grade level math in COLLEGE because i coudlnt do college math which was the same as high school jus a lil advance and the advisor told me u should take a lower one like pre algebra or lower so u can get stronger doing the basics which will help me work my way up:)

Answer #4

Don’t force your self to love math if math doesn’t like you at all! LOL!

Answer #5

Find a way to learn maths that works for you. I had a teacher once, who would keep explaining things to me in different ways until she found the way that worked for me. If you are struggling in maths, and you are really trying, you are not stupid, your teacher is failing at their job. Also, people excel at different things. Dont be discouraged because you are not so good at some things, because there are other things that you are naturally good at.

Answer #6

Ah, you’re not stupid. Math just isn’t your strength. We all have certain things we’re good at, and then certain things we need to work super hard on. This is just one of those things!

In any case, I very much agree with Brooke. If you’re having troubles even though you’ve got yourself a tutor and you study a lot, perhaps it’s time to sit down with your teacher and discuss some of the issues you’re having with your work.

It’s definitely not fun to ask, but your teacher is there to support you with your learning – always keep that in mind.

Answer #7

Try this: Talk with your math teacher. Ask him / her to help you alittle. One thing that I think helps is putting an equation into “story problem” form. (this can be done with any form or level of math) It makes it more interesting, and you also subconciously want to find the solution to this “problem” rather than just looking at numbers. Work on that for awhile until you get better. You are not stupid, just need a way to learn to apply yourself. You can do it.

Answer #8

For me its the exact opposite. I HATE story problems. A straight forward equation makes more sense to me.

Answer #9

Wait! I got this one. Stand back everyone!!! Dude! I get good grades in everything but math too. The one thing thast helps me is youtube vids. there are some good vids out there. Oh yeah, if you find an instructor that you can learn math from try to stick with that person, or at least try to recognize the teaching style they use.
