Word association - example: as a controller, when a pilot reported he/she was in icing conditions I had to habe certain information in order to pass it along - I remembered LACETT:

  • Location (20 miles southeast of Atlanta)
  • Altitude (8,000)
  • Condition (Icing)
  • Extent (light)
  • Type (reported by a F-22)
  • Time (time reported to me, 2232Z)

try studying while listening to rhythmic music, it is widely accepted by scientists that music can help you study by making your brain more active and thus allowing it to intake more information.

I do it and strangely enough even though I might have read it once through I can remember most of the stuff… O_o thats saying a lot when you are trying to studying physiology (the way harder version of biology) for a final exam in university… lots and lots of names and functions to remember…

Answer #3

It’s : Study.

Also:

Make note cards and use those to study ( I did it before every test) Re-read the materiel an hour or so before you have a test Write down what you want to remember - we remember things better if we have actually written them down and not just read them Study alone - other people are distracting

Answer #4

word association always worked with me- translate the information into something you know well. I would give things a sexual connotation. example.

putting my d!(k into a trap- what that means- putting in more than you are getting back- POINT OF DEMINISHING RETURNS. ( this was from 22 years ago- political science test- I still remember it)

I used this to great success, just translate the information into your own terms- and while you are thinking hard to rephrase things- you are actually imprinting this information into your brain. hope this helps.

Answer #5

Like The Informer said, try listening to music :) Classical music helps more than anything else though, so get some classical music to play while you revise (someone I know did an experiment for Psychology with it)

Also, try drawing mind maps/diagrams and make them really colourful. Our brains respond better to colour :)
