My daughter (who's natural hair color is a very light brown died her hair black about 8 months ago. The roots of course, have now grown out and it looks horrible. How can we get the rest of the black out and return it all to it's natural color?
this happened to me!!! lol... I now have medium. dark brown hair, I used to dye it jet black. I bleached it put which should be ok for your hair, stripping it wont destroy it it'll just be a little dry... but only once coz u dont want to break ur daughter's hair and have to cut it all off.
Id recommend stripping it, as black wont budge and she doesnt want to spend 4 years of her life growing out the black/ But only strip it the once itll be enough and dye a brown over. NOT DARK BROWN! ALL dark brown colours that say dark brown on the box go black!!! It has to be number 5 or 6 brown (if your buying it in a shop) I do mine 5 or 6 an d 'natural brown' or 'chocolate brown' which blends in beautifully with my natural hair colour (light med brown ---same as urs!) Id reocmmend it! I love the chocolate tones in my hair and it goes a lovely brown colour in the sun... heres a pic of the brown I got my hair to now...from JET BLACK!!! u can do it even lighter I just chose to keep it reasonably dark brown xx
Since you obviousley don't want to re-dye it black again, go to a salon. What they can do is strip out the color. I had my hair dyed dark red (I have naturally dark blonde hair), so I went and got it stripped out and had blonde highlights put in. If you look at my picture, I would say it was pretty successful! There are at home kits that you can use, but those are even harder on your hair than the salon procedure is, so I wouldn't reccomend them. If you do decide to go to a salon and get it stripped out, even if she gets her hair another color), make sure that you use VERY moisturizing and hydrating shampoo and contitioner for about a month after.
