How do you stop your nail-beds from splitting and the skin peeling (very painful!)?

Answer #1

A good cuticle oil as well as lemon juice on that area. That will help heal it and keep it mosturized and prevent splitting.

Answer #2

If your nail beds are splitting & your skin is peeling it may be bcz you are lacking hydration. make sure you keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water as well as eating right. another reason this can occur is due to change of weather. As the temperature gets colder it will cause your hands some cracking. What you must do is moisturize more. Another reason can be due to keeping your hands in a lot of water…cleaning abrasives..(that means anywhere from washing too much dishes or simply too much cleaning products.) Best advice is to use the right pair of kitchen gloves when doing so & make sure after each wash you moisturize with hand creams/lotions. Last but not least…make sure you keep your nails away from any nail cutters, but cutting your cuticles on a daily/weekly basis can also damage your nail beds & as Irene K. Mentioned a good solution is cuticle oil/almond oil & simply rub iyt into the cuticles & bed, then moisturize.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how things are going. Good luck!

Answer #3

Try this also. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Get it at your local vitamin shop. It’s one of natures best antiseptics and moisturizers. You can also cook and eat it. Kills bacteria in the mouth if you gargle it, and kills tooth decay. Brush your teeth with it. Don’t sallow. Softens the skin and keeps it healthy.
