What can I do to stop feeling light-headed and sick during my period?

I’m also getting headaches and feel quite tired too, I can’t even eat properly because the smell of food is starting to make me feel like I want to throw up and my period is quite heavy now, it’s been quite heavy the past few months which worried me at first. I feel worse when I stand up. Is there anything I can drink or try eat to stop feeling like this?

Answer #1

Might sound funny, but my mum and my grandma has always said that when you’re on your period avoid “cooler” foods and drinks, like tea whether it’s hot or not, ice cream, watermelon, pears stuff like that. They say it makes you bleed more heavily. Also, try some foods with more iron for your lightheartedness like leafy vegetables, eggs and protein rich foods. You could also try iron supplements.

Thanks Janice, I’ll try that :)

Answer #3

cereal is really good if you want iron… 1 bowl has like 25% of the needed amount of daily iron

Answer #4

Lying down with a cold wash rag on your eyes usually helps me out. Also pamprin or excedrin helps also if you were looking for some medication that would help it out.
