I totally agree with that. At what age do you think a minor is really capable of deciding that he or she wants to sleep with an adult.

I don’t really think it’s wrong if it’s like 18-20 but over that is kind of weird. But what really irratates me is when the girl or guy lies to an older person like she/hes actually 13 and says shes like 18 to get with them, and then the older person still has to go to jail!

I found a website that will tell you what the legal age of consent is around the world and for every state in the US. Most of the US also says that the “rapist” has to be more than 3-4 years older if they are a minor also.

I think the limit should go up to like, 25. I mean, what if your 18 and your girlfriend or boyfriend is 16 or 17? youd be going to jail for a “rape”. rape isnt rape unless you didnt consent and he/she forced you. thats like putting someone away for the murder even tho they only put someone in a coma. I dont like how they say “your too young to consent to sex” if we think we’re ready and we’ve thought it over. its like they think we’re too young to think for ourselves. if it turns out to be a mistake, then its a mistake. oh well.

in michigan if you are 16 you are of legal age to consent [[I believe]] statutory rape is designed to punish perverts who have sex with young teenagers for example have you read the question on here, “does swallowing cum get you pregnant?” if you are over 18 and have sex with a minor, you should be punished… AND in most states it is also illegal for people under 16-18, [[depends on the state]] to engage in ANY sexual activity and as a person, when I was 17 I was hooking up with a 23 year old… he knew my age after we began sharing feelings… looking back, it is kinda gross, BUT, I still remain good friends with him and see him as an equal. in conclusion to my answer, there are many shades of gray

I think that the reason the kid doesn’t get in trouble is because the whole law is about “kids are not mature enough to make the decision to have sex”. If they are not capable of it than why should they get punished? However, I lost my virginity at age 14 and I think I was capable of making my own decisions regarding sex. However I made some pretty bad decisions that I don’t think I would have made if I had waited until I was older.

im oklahoma it depends on how many years apart.you can be four to six years for it to be legal.
