What song would be the best in representing the Vietnam War?

It’s for a project that i’m helping someone with.

Answer #1

Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” is one of the better Vietnam War songs I’ve ever heard. It’s about how the children of the privileged classes got out of the draft and serving in the war, while the children of the lower classes enjoyed no such special treatment and had to fight. Politicians are very willing to support a war so long as someone else’s children do the fighting. It was also a very popular song during the Vietnam War.

Answer #2

Some of my favorites are: Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising. John Lennon - Give peace a chance.

Answer #3

Nineteen - Paul Hardcastle

Answer #4

Basically anything by CCR. Most of their songs were written during and about the Vietnam war. Edwin Starr’s “War” is a good one too.

Answer #5

Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A.
