'Stan'-Eminem, and what does the song mean?

I was listening to ‘Stan’-Eminem, and what does the song mean? and you know when hes saying stuff like “we should be together” and stuff, does that mean hes gay or what? because he has a girlfriend. someone tell me. lol

I think when he says “we should be together” I think he means physically, not in a gay, relationship kind of way.

it means basically, that everyone can help everyone.

and some people have hope in things other than god.

Stan looked at Eminem as an idol, in the song, because Emm had been through a lot of the same things.

Stan needed to keep hope, in something at least, but when he felt that he no longer had a reason to live, like the hope was gone, he snapped.
