Something new.

I usually either wear my hair curling with mouse and hair spray or I striaghten it. but I am getting tired of doing the same thing everytime and I have looked at magazines to get ideas but I can never get them to turn out right or look right, what can I do?

^Awesome! Wavy hair is gorgeous.

My first tip: Stop straightening it! I want you to bring out your natural wave! The last thing wavy hair needs is a straightener drying it out. Buy a shampoo (health store shampoos are pricy, but worth it) that doesn’t have sodium laureth sulfate (or ammonium lauryl sulfate, any sulfate is bad). It dries out your hair. And if you want waves looking good, you need them moisturized! If you really don’t want to buy that kind of shampoo, go ahead and use a little of your regular shampoo when you wash your hair. Moisture isn’t as essential to waves as it is to curls, although it’s still important to keep them moisturized.

Next, use a little conditioner for moisture unless your hair is really oily. After you get out of the shower, DON’T TOUCH YOU HAIR. Scrunch/blot it. Apply a little product that’s for wavy or curly hair (anti-frizz is great), but don’t touch it at all after that. Let it air dry. Also, I recommend TRESemme hair products. Find them at your local drugstore.

And I’ll get on with what you really wanted to know about. It sort of depends on the length of your hair which hairstyles you want to do. You said that you tried out hairstyles in magazines and they never turned out right. Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s because those people in magazines have professional hairstylists to style their hair and top-notch products. So how are we regular people supposed to do that?

Here are a few hairstyles you can do (after your hair has dried). Like I said, it depends on the length.

-Loose bun: Pull your hair messily into a bun, don’t make it perfectly neat. With a rat-tail comb, get a few tendrils out and let them hang. Spray with hairspray for a finishing touch.

-Half up, half down: Put the upper layer of your hair back and secure with a clip or elastic. Let the rest of your hair fall on your shoulders.

-High ponytail with tendrils: Pull your hair into a high ponytail, and get out your rat-tail comb once again. Gently pull out a few tendrils and let them hang.

-Down. Just wait for your hair to dry (remember to put a little product while it’s wet). Add a cute headband or cute clips into it, and spray it with your hairspray.

I hope I helped! Good luck with your gorgeous waves! And don’t forget to experiment some more with hairstyles!

^Wow, you have an advantage then. Long hair is easier to work with when it comes to hairstyles. But I would recommend getting long-layers for your hair, as that will reduce frizziness if you have any. Cut it maybe like 5 or 6 inches if you want to.

Answer #3

^One thing I forgot to add. You could also get a new haircut. I have curly hair, and I got long-layers. I love them! It depends on the length of your hair, though.

Answer #4

My hair goes to my mid back and I love the long hair. But I would like to get it cut but no one can ever do it the way I want.

Okay. First I need to ask you what your hair is naturally like: Curly, wavy, or straight? When you tell me I will be able to help you :)
