How do you smooth out a raspy singing voice?
My singing voice is raspy naturally, but I can’t seem to smooth it out. People say it’s rough and others love my voice. It’s so weird.
Well your voice it’s how it is. Just be proud of it, and show it off, voices are unique, your it’s raspy and that’s how it is, I would not do anathing to change it. Just find your type of music to sing and embrace it. Soon the singing practice will let you go out of your comfort zones by itself.
Why smooth it out? Personally i love singers with rasy voices. You have to remember that its idividualism that makes a singer truly stand out. Some of the most famous singers/bands have raspy voices….Janis Joplin, Aerosmith (who registers all over the scale with his voice), the list could go on forever
Do you think if I keep on practicing my singing, I won’t be ashamed of my voice style?

It’s actually very hard to make your raspy voice smooth out.Singers with raspy voice seem to do it all the way.If you want to hear some go to the ‘videos’ link in my profile and click on ‘Stateless-Bloodstream’ You will see the beauty of the song is maintained and even enhanced by the raspy voice.Your voice being raspy doesn’t really matter very much unless you sing with feel and the willingness to sing good.
i don’t think you need to smooth out your voice. raspy singing voices are cool, too!
