Fast quit smoking methods?

can someone who has quit smoking and anything else tell me how to do it tonight and stick to it?

I’ve never been a smoker but lets see- Tonight? Okay… if you are expecting to quit that fast you are flat out setting yourself up for disappointment. You need to set a more realistic goal that can actually be accomplished. In my past school years I did a lot of projects on addiction and really the most common way to put yourself on a better path is simply cutting back. Starting to cut back a little at a time will help you to completely stop, you cant expect to just stop all together right away. So take out a piece of paper and make a chart, each day write how many you smoked and make sure you are cutting back little by little. This will take time but I honestly think its the best way to do it. Once you start noticing a difference it will encourage you to keep going. Another thing that can help is doing something else when you have a craving - drink some pop, go watch tv, call someone, do SOMETHING that will interupt your craving and do this as much as possible while you are cutting back. There are many sites that can help you and you need to make a plan that will help YOU personally because something may work for someone else really good and do nothing for you. I have not smoked, nor will I ever. My dad smoked, and while trying to quit, he did some of the following:

– Don’t think, ‘eh, I’ll just have one, one won’t hurt.’ It will, and if you do this, you break your habit – This is a long irritable process, I’ll tell you that right now. You can’t do it in one night.
– You usually gain weight over the process of quitting, because you’re upset and irritable. So be careful! – When you feel like smoking, try a lollipop, it gives the same effect as smoking. (be careful because you don’t want to gain too much weight!)
