Depends. I mean, some historic events are considered Genocide by one side while the other side calls it a war or a conquering of new found land. One recent is the civil war between the Hutu people and the Tutsi people in Rwanda. Another, the killing of 300.000 Armenians in the Osmanian Empire (today: Turkey) during WW1, and also the Killing of (about) 85.000 Herero people by Germans in Namibia 1904.

There was Armenian genocide. before that there was Carthago genoside by Romans.
