Sims 3, you can drive,run or bike to town to go to loads of different places You can also buy recipies to cook, and there are more options. Also your needs decrease slower so you have more time to do more things You can visit peoples houses and zoom out to view the whole town Also you have moodlets that make your mood better or worse depending on what happens. Like when you brush your teeth or have a house with a nice view, your mood goes up. But if your near a crying baby it gets you annoyed and it goes down a bit ;)

On Sims 2, you can’t visit other peoples houses, but there seem to be more outfits you can choose from :P There are 3 or more neighbourhoods, on sims 3 theres only one. Your have memories of events. You have a Storybook type thing where you can take a photo and write a caption underneath it. You have to load to go to community lots and houses.
