Sick little puppy

How can I calm my little puppies upset stomach? He is not eating and he just threw up a bunch of liquid. He goes from laying around to up and going like it’s nothing. I think it may be stess because I just rescued him.

call a vet

if it’s a poison, like he’s eaten something bad, then as weird as it sounds feeding charcoal can clear out his system. but be carfull. but if it’s stress it’s a hard one

to calm a upset tummy you should with hold food for 24 hrs but not water then slowly introduce a bland diet like chicken and rice. I do know that you have a vet appt. and I hope this is just a change of home and nothing more and in the next couple of days he will be fine. But if you don’t know anything about his vaccine history or any viruses he may have picked up, it could be worse, But I am praying for the best and I can’t wait till you post pictures of these new babies, There are a lot of ladies in the group For the Love of Our dogs who may be able to shed some more ideas or thoughts. Good luck.

Feed him a bland diet…boiled rice and hamberger, or boiled rice and chicken…Are you feeding what the pups were getting before you rescued them? It takes a few days to switch them over…Are there any signs of diarreah?? Ususally the bland diet is for the runs…tho it is easily digestable, so would help with vomiting, also.

I use Minute RIce…I throw the burger or chicken in the water I’m going to cook the rice with…not too much meat (mostly rice)…when it comes to a boil toss in the rice…the burger or chicken will cook in that time…offer it to him often, if he’s not eating. Make sure there’s plenty of water to drink, also…after 3 days or so, start mixing in some of his regular kibble.

When did you puppy last have it’s vaccinations? I would be in the Vet this morning and make sure your pup does not have Parvo or Canine Distemper (which is making a reappearance). I would not wait until later in the week. I would get your pup in now.

Even pups that have been vaccinated can sometimes get Parvo, it the disease slips through the window of opportunity or mutates. Please go to the Vet right away. The above signs are possible signs of Parvo.

Answer #6

Get your pup checked out with your local vet and ask if there’s anything you can feed him to help him feel better. My sister’s small dog was sick once and they recommended a bit of scrambled eggs in his diet until he felt better. Hope he feels better soon.
