Sick Ferrret! PlEASE HELP!!!

I just got a new ferret yesterday (the old owner was going blind) , and he was super duper skinny (I can feel every bone in his body). He is 10 months old and he is smaller than my 7 month old female!!! He is eating and drinking a lot, so its not like that is the problem. I know ferrets can’t get worms and his poop doesn’t have any other parasite in it. When I first got him he didn’t have much energy at all (he could barely stand) but now he is getting some back. What can I do to make him healthy???

Answer #1

I answered you other question I would really consult a vet. I have seen a couple of ferrets at the vet hopsital I work for. They can have tumour’s, and other health issues that only vets can diagonise. We have also give fluids and antibiotic’s to get some to bounce back If you are really worried, take him to a vet.

get him to a vet that treats ferrets. sounds like he has something like pneumonia, diabetes, cancer there are many many diseases he could have. go get him checked it could be simple and they will get dehydrated fast and this can be deadly so don’t wait . diane
