So we get a lot of social networking related questions. Some get removed, some don't. For the record - our site has never raised money from third parties. We have listed our values on our "about us" page. We're not making millions of dollars (in fact, NONE of the co-founders of the site make a "salary" from this business).
And yet, people ask for help with say, facebook - which has raised more than $400 million dollars and has ZERO values - they're not trying to make the world a better place, they're trying to make money. Period.
So...if you ask about their products, in general, we'll delete the question, and tell you to ask them. Why? Because if they care about YOU, they'll help you. We do care, and we answer your questions :) The staff, the co-founders, etc.
Myspace, as an example, is going to make nearly a billion dollars in revenue this year...and yet, people ask for help here, constantly, with myspace. Generally speaking, I think this is a bad thing.
What do you think? Should we allow these questions, or not?
dude, keep them! people have a right to talk about whatever they want.. dont take their freedom of speech away for them.. this is a site to ask questions and get them answered really quick!
love the site by the wayy!
Yes allow them because Funadvice is for advice & and help & sometimes we really dont undertsand whats going on on other websites so we come here for help so be the bigger website & allow them ;)
I would say that if someone is asking how to do something on another website then it should be deleted. But if they only want to know how to get to it or what it's about then let it here.
It's not a question of being the bigger website. Who cares about that. This is an advice website, yes, but if someone wants to know about myspace...then go to myspace.
Delete them. If people want to hang on myspace or facebook and they think it's so great, then they can be there...not here.
I agree with emiibaby
