Should I write a note to the boy that I like?

hey my name iz brittinay and i like this boy but the thing iz i have a bf still and the boy that i like has a gf but i want to tell the boy that i like him and would like to get to know eachother and be friends and maybe if we are ok with that maybe one day we can become more than friends sum da…but the thing iz im in high skool now and my friends say that writing a note iz too childish so im undecided whether i should or shouldnt and i dont even kos if that boi likes me or not so the questionsw are: how can i find out if he doez like me? and should i tell him how i feel in a note or just tell even though im shy??? please help me!!! theng iz we hug everyday about 8x’s or more than that on a non-busy day and if i dont then he’ll pull me into a hug if im walking by and all i just wanna know what should i do please help me!!!
