should I still feel the way I do about him?

Im basically really confused. I really like this guy. We are both only 14.Well I really like him. Many older people may say its just a crush. Well mine is like a HUMUNGUS crush. Anyways I have liked this guy for about 2 years now.Maybe less.One of friends used to like him in the beginning. NOT me. But for some reason I started liking him for no reason,though many people have told me I deserve something better,I just cant stop thinking about him.Anyways that same friend( the one that used to like him) asked him out for me(without me knowing) and he said no.I got mad because I told my friend NOT to tell him! Anyways he always has had the idea that I got mad at him beacuse he said no at first(and that is not true!) But what I never got to understand is: if he said he didnt like me… why would he stare at me? why would he follow me around(as in stalking), why would he get mad when I talked,hugged,other guys? He NEVER told me in my face he didnt like me.Almost at the end of the school year I send two of my BEST FRIENDS to tell him if he liked me. He said NO. But my friends(and other people) said he was fidgeting! I was like that probably isnt true theyre only trying to make me feel better,but I told them if he says no tell him if he wants to be my friend. he said NO! I got mad and told him face 2 face what was his problem! he was practically sweating! all he could say was the word “NOTHING”.Then I told him do you want to be friends? he said YES right away without thinking it twice! I was like WTF? well right now we are FRIENDS.But neither of us can talk to each other becuse we are shy! Hes on the football team,and im in summer school so thats how I see him.This is the LAST week im going to see him until August.He will be in High School me in 8th Grade. Should I tell him how I feel? or what should I do? I really like him but im confused.Hes super shy,not popular at all,and has NEVER had a girlfriend in his life. Should I just tell him?
