should I report my boyfriend to the police?

me and my boyfriend got in a fight. he seen some text I was sending my friend about a guy from the past. he got really upset and took my cell. I got his camera so he could give me my cell,but when I did that he got furious! he choked me and lifted me up! I was so scared! I wanted to call the cops but he had my cell. he also choked me with his for-arm. I want to file a police report but I don’t know if theyll even do anything. what do I do??

you cold say it was attempted merder and they will arrest him

they may not do anything but you should report him he sounds like someone who gets physically violent and its better for him to be punnished for that now than later even if they cant arrest him, they can still tell him off if you have any proof, like bruises or a witness these will help if not report him anyway

I think you should but if you don’t you should at least stay away from him, don’t either bother to waist time with him,
