Should I get acupuncture for my disabled dog?

Someone told me that accupuncture was a good alternative to surgery. My dog just got an injury to her back by unkown reasons. The neurologist we spoke to mentioned different forms of rehabilitation and accupuncture was one he suggested. Has anyone went through this? Should we elect to go with natural rehab or bookoo bucks trying to get her through surgery?

Whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Some people aren’t willing to spend any money on their pets, and some are willing to sell the moon and stars to help take care of them. If accupuncture is a more resonable priced alternative then i’d suggest looking into the cheapest things first. No sense in spending 5,000 when you could have spent 500.

I too have a disabled dog (she lost a front leg in an accident) and I regularly take her for chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. It makes a world of difference for her outlook on life. She’s 12 years old and she plays with her toys like she’s a puppy (especially right after a chiropractic treatment). Chiro can be particularly effective if it is a back problem, but make sure you find someone that is specifically trained to do this. http://www.avcadoctors.com/ Check this site out to see if there is a doctor in your area. The same goes for acupuncturists. Here is a great site that explains animal acupuncture http://www.natural-animal-health.co.uk/Acupuncture.htm. I hope this helps…good luck with your dog!!

I’ve heard accupuncture is very good, try it for your dog. :) Better than cutting it open, don’t you think?
