Should I self-pierce my belly-button.. b/c I’ve always wanted it done and I’m not allowed to do it myself.. I need advice

Answer #1

No I wouldnt they get infected so easily. Im sure your mum would rather pay for one that it get infected. Well I would as a mum anyway.

Answer #2

Thank-you everyone.. I’ll wait.. even though it’s 6 1/2 mths away.. I won’t take the cahnce.. but unfortunetaly I have scar tissue and is it too LATE.. did I ruin it?

Answer #3

NOO!!! please dont take it from somebody that did.. it will more then likely get infected and could possibly cause a lot of damage. not to mention there are nerves you can hit. Also if you want it done later when (if) it gets infected from doing it urself most places wont pierce it over a scar.. just wait if parents or age is the issue!

Answer #4

no, I definently wouldnt advise that. the only “expirience” you have is putting a needle through your skin. and peircing is much more than that. just save up $50 bucks and get it done the right way, or wait a little longer. its not the end of the world, so be safe!

Answer #5

hun…dont do it yourself…just wait..it hurts a lot when you do it yourself and I garuntee you it will be infected within a week and youll have to take it out

Answer #6

would you remove a tooth yourself? probably not . you’ll regret it, you’ll probably end up ruinign the nerves or scaring it really bad. don’t do it babe, piercers have to have 10 weeks of practice before they are aloud to pierce, you’re way clueless so I wouldn’t do it.

Answer #7

You will really regret it if you pierce it yourself. It takes a sterilized needle, which does NOT mean holding it over a fire or using rubbing alcohol. It means using an autoclave, which I doubt you have access to. If you do not autoclave the needle, you could get a serious infection.

Not only that, but you would need to use a surgical steel hollow needle, which I also doubt you have access to. If you do not use this type of needle, not only do you risk infection, you will badly damage the flesh you’re trying to pierce, and you will cause the chances of the jewelry being rejected to go way up.

Lastly, professional piercers are professional because they have training and lots of experience. You have neither.

Wait to get it done, and you’ll be glad you did.

Answer #8
