Okay, well, on my Dell Laptop, you have to right-click on the small icon called “Dell Touchpad”, on the toolbar, in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, and select “Touchpad Properties” from the menu that appears. Then click on “Scrolling and Zoom Settings”. Here, you can enable and disable scrolling and control the speed, and other options. Of course, this is for my Dell Laptop, so if you have a different make, the process may be different. Anyway, I hope this helps!
Just ask your boyfriend to fix it :P or you could use the drivers he supplied for you on the usb that you just forgot about :O
