How do I tease my hair and make it big without it looking totally knotted and gross??
It destroys your hair. You might as well shave your head. Most 'scene' girls put in extensions after teasing their natural hair, because their natural hair is so damaged. What happens when you get split ends is it makes them weak. When they're weak, they snap off easily. Now, your hair regenerates in cycles, and actually regenerates a lot more than you see. The reason why they say trimming makes it grow faster is because it increases the look of growth, since it gets rid of split ends that make it break off (losing hair and inhibiting growth). When you're deliberately giving yourself knots and split ends, your hair doesn't grow, you lose overall hair.
What scene girls do(teasing their hair) my friends and I used to pull pranks on eachother when we were like six, and knot someones hair up like that while they were sleeping so they'd wake up in the morning like that.
if you have short layers at the top the easiest way to do it is to tease one section of the top layer:use a special hairspray to keep from damaging the hair, then to actually tease it use a teasing comb or a widetooth comb to tease without making it knotted and gross in the back. make sure you are washing your hair with a type of shampoo and conditioner that matches your type of hair, I recomend treseme they have many different products that can match your hair type! good luck!!
thats the thing teasing, also known as backcombing is basically tangling/knotting your hair up which makes it all poofy usually they backcomb the bottom then comb some top bits straight and put them over the backcombed bit to make it look neater there is any way, nomatref what products you use that wont make it a bit messy there are also lots of back combing/ " scene " hair tutorials on youtube
teasing your hair is very damaging, the healthy way to do it is to get a special comb, it wide toothed and has 3 rows of teeth, and start in the middle of your head and tease just a little bit all the way to the top of your head! its healthier and doesnt look knotted and gross
Theres way you can do it without damaging it. I use a special hairspray before I do it, coats it with an extra layer so it doesnt break, think its tresseme?
hair spray the peice and than tease it from the root to the top. do it in layers than brush it down and fix it and walla
