Is it safe to use a Motorola Defy in the shower?

claims to be water resistant already survived a cup of water for 2 minutes

I don’t trust labels. I would never bring my phone in the shower, OR put it in a cup of water.

Well, it won’t kill you, but if you can’t put down your phone long enough to take a shower, then it says a lot for your mental capacity…get help.

Water resistant does not mean waterproof. Your phone should not be close to water.

I’m sure you can live without your phone for a shower.

My friend had one, but he got drunk and baptized his phone in n glass of vodka and forgot about it… and the next morning the phone wouldn’t work… so rather not take it in to the shower :-)

no, as irene said water resistant does not mean waterproof, eventually water will get into it and the phone will break, and it’s possible you could get something like an electric shock if the phone is a bit open or broken to begin with…basically, dont even try. you dont need to be using the phone in the shower, it can wait untill you’ve finnished, surely?
