Room colour.

Okay, I need your opinion.

I’m going to paint my room maybe this weekend or next. So the colours I choose:

  1. Pink & grey.
  2. Pink & brown(like darkish brown).
  3. Green(soft green) & brown(darkish brown).
  4. Lilac & beige.
  5. Red(soft red) & pink.

I know there’s a lot of pink. But I’m sure I can make it not look girly. So which? Or do you have any other ideas?

A good idea, when you’re in a store go by the paint section and they have those multi-colored strips and you can compare colors side-by-side…Take care !!

Tash, colors have meaning to them. Your room is an important part of your life and it is a direct extension of who you “really” are. So the colors of your room are important in that they reflect your personality.

For example:

Brown is an earthy tone. Sort of meaning a person who is “down to earth”.

Red is a flashy color. Mostly for those who are strong extroverts.

Pink is a girly color. It represents femininity.. but mostly for “little” girls. As a little girl slowly evolves into an adult woman, that preference for “pink” will usually morf more into such colors as lilac, rose, sometimes burgandy and so on. Mostly colors that will give the appearance of more maturity..but stil have some “pink” in them.

Green represents “life”…such as in nature, going green, plants, etc.

Blue represents “passion” and “truth”.

White quite often represents clean. Sometimes it is reflective of neurotic, or a person who is most particular about being extremely clean in their life style.

Grey is a very interesting color. If mixed with white trim in a bedroom, people have reported sleeping much better at night for some reason.

Psychologists report that, for a bedroom, colors that are not very “bright” will help to aid in getting better sleep and will have a much more calming effect as opposed to, say, bright yellow, fire engine red, or pastel colors of green, beige and so on.

If you are in a position to do draperies, bed spread, and other items in complimentary colors… the more the merrier.

Hope This Helped. Happy Painting!

:-)
