How do I get rid of a huge, unattractive wave in hair from straightening hair damage and buns/ponytails?

I’ve straightened my hair from a little before the beggining of 8th grade to the end of my 10th grade school year practically every day. ( I have also dyed streaks into my hair and cut it but I don’t think that has anything to do with the bump but it could). I have stopped straightening my hair for about two months or so now. But because of this nasty bump I wear my hair in a bun or ponytail always which really does NOT help the crease in my hair. But my hair is almost completely healthy now.

Main: So I guess from all the damage to the hair took a tole. All my hair above the bump is completely health and pritty! Below it is alright. But the bump is horrible!!!!

I really want to rid of it so I can start to wear my hair down(= Its to high to cut up to and I don’t want to wear my hair down because of it. Are there anything I could put on it that could help that doesn’t look solid, make my hair look still, feel and look sticky, or anything of the sort..

You can go to a salon and ask them as to what they suggest. Always use shampoos that will provide health and strength from your breakage in your ends of hair.

Answer #4

you can get shampoos and conditioner that are specially for damaged hair.

Answer #5

Wet it , dry it, and then fix it (:

Answer #6

Eventually you will have to cut it. Its the only way to get rid of the damage, you cant reverse it and the split hair doesnt grow back together, though many have tried to get around it, it has to be done. But if your not willing to cut it yet then take extra care that it doesnt spread, split ends (or middles) travel up and you could end up needing to cut a lot more off than you do now because the split ends continued up the new healthy hair. Try layers, you can get that ‘bump’ chopped off but still keep the length that way. And in the future, heat protection please! :)
