I have small patches of pimples that won't seem to go away no matter what I do. The problem is that my skin is so sensitive so I can't use most acne washes because it makes it worse and makes my skin burn and peel. Anybody with really sensitive skin have any treatments that worked? Should I see a dermatologist?
There is no miracle treatment. It will take time and hundreds of trials before you find a good system for you. Here is what works for me. Avoid any and ALL sort of harsh, scented, drying soaps. get a good quality face wash and moisturizer, i use Olay. wash and moisturize morning and night only. Use a high concentrated spot treatment on zits only! The chemicals probably make you break out more. Don't pick, one little pimple could go away with aggressive spot treatments. If you pick, it becomes large, inflamed, and may produce babies around it! Sometimes you do need to pop them, but only if they are white and come out easily. Clean popped ones with stridex pads or something like that and follow up with aggressive spot treatments. If you wear make up, switch to a powder mineral foundation, I use bear minerals. Occasional trips to the Tanning salon may also help. If you decide to try my system, let me know in a few months if it worked!
You should always start by trying to treat the problem from the inside. Drinking lots of water, less sugary foods/drinks, less alcohol and less fatty foods like pizza or chips will really help reduce acne. Obviously nobody expects you to cut out yum food from your diet, but by mlimiting your intake, and drinking more water, eating more fresh veges, you may notice a pleasant difference in your skin. Exercise really helps too, even just going for a fun walk every other evening in the summer, taking up a sport with friends, or walking the neighbor's dog will help clear skin, and will also boost your metabolism which is always a plus hahah.
You can use proactiv. My skin is also super sensitive and I use it. You can not over use it though. Small amounts should be used at all times. You face will go through a dry stage when you first begin to use it, but that is normal. The product takes about 3 months to actually work.
I use stridex wipes after sweating especially and before I go to bed and they help a lot and its not like super fast but it works prevent and makes them go away. Plus like you I have super sensitive skin so it's perfect and not strong at all
What you can do is take birth control. It helps alot for some people. I had started getting acne on my face at 14 and started using bc for it and it took away within the month. :)

use some sort of natural soap.... i use natural oatmeal soap!
