  Did he give you his cell phone number? If he did then he obviously wants to talk to you so just call him up and say "hi". If, however, you got it from someone else then you can call him and tell him who you are and just start talking.

  I'm sure if he gave you his number then he wants to talk to you so there will not be a shortage of things to talk about.
