People smoke because they like it.
Nicotine acts as a stimulant giving smokers a boost and also acts as an anti-depressant increasing the levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. It takes only 7 seconds for inhaled tobacco smoke to begin to have its effect and its quick action makes its effect more noticeable than medications that start gradually.
The main drawback to tobacco is that it is very addictive and if you are a habitual user it will probably kill you or at least shorten your life significantly.
I started smoking at 12 (it was very easy to get when I was a lad since it was available from vending machines) but luckily for me I quit at 14 before I was addicted.
I smoke, have since I was sixteen years. (so that's about a year and a half) My reason for why I started? Because I could, because no one could stop me. Now I smoke because it's fun I guess, it tastes good to me. There's a lot of reasons to quit, and not one to start the habit. I've quit for a month one time, picked it up because I had nothing better to do really. I guess it's all in your perspective if you can put it down or not, it's not impossible, that's for sure.
Almost every young person starts because of peer pressure or to look cool - if they say otherwise they are lying. There is never a "good" reason to smoke though, your paying some company to slowly k!ll you. I smoked for 10 years and quitting was the best thing i ever did. Its amazing how healthy you feel when you finally stop.
I know,they all ways teach us it's wrong and unhealty but people still it.But I was just wondering why. I have a naeber who has had, I think 2 or 3 heart Acctiks and he still won't stop smoking,plus he takes care of a 7 year old boy and he mom isn't really in the picture I think she has a drug issuse,not sure. O_o
I started smoking at 12 :/ because all my friends did it & I was curious as my dad has always smoked.I quit. But then I started when I was 16 again and got hooked, and now I rely on them to keep myself as calm and mellow as I can be everyday. But hopefully I'll be quitting soon.
for me i would NEVER smoke its the #1 most common reason of dea!h in the usa
It relaxes some people and takes stress of them
i only smoke the dank because its awesome
