i knew it was a book, but i dont recall hearing the quote from the first movie so i automatically assumed you got it from the second film. my bad, i just recently watched the second film and shouldn't have gotton mad at you :( accept my apology? :) xx
it originally had no answer but since he was bugged so much about it Carroll made up an answer after the fact: "Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!' "
When Lewis Carroll wrote that riddle for Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter said it, and what he says usually makes no sense. so the riddle originally made no sense:

Yeah and in the book made back in the 1800's. It has been around for a long time. I wonder how many people through the years pondered this riddle and how long they pondered it.
