why is a Raven like a writing desk?

When Lewis Carroll wrote that riddle for Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter said it, and what he says usually makes no sense. so the riddle originally made no sense:

it originally had no answer but since he was bugged so much about it Carroll made up an answer after the fact: “Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!’ “

Ha ha thats funny, I decided to go ahead and google it. I just got done reading that page… it is interesting though isn’t it!

It was in the old cartoon, I used to try asking everyone in my church that question.

Yeah and in the book made back in the 1800’s. It has been around for a long time. I wonder how many people through the years pondered this riddle and how long they pondered it.

i knew it was a book, but i dont recall hearing the quote from the first movie so i automatically assumed you got it from the second film. my bad, i just recently watched the second film and shouldn’t have gotton mad at you :( accept my apology? :) xx
