What obstacles should I put in my rat maze for school?

I have this project for school where I have to make a maze for a lab rat, and it’s pretty much done but I can’t think of any good obstacles to add to it. So far I have mirrors in a few of the corners, a really big mirror on the floor of another corner, and bars going across a hallway so the rat would either have to go under or jump over them. Any other ideas??? I’m open to any suggestions.

Hi!

You could create a dead end in your maze so the rat has to figure out how to get around it.

Another option is using PVC pipe to make little tunnels for the rat to run through!

Little revolving doors (ie. a flap door… y’know…) and, um, maybe a weighted door also! One that only opens when a certain weight is added to a section of the maze… You could do this with balances… Hope I helped a bit. Good luck!
