The roots of rapping go back a looong way, to West African "griots" - bearers of news and oral history, sort of like the medieval troubadours of Europe. More recent precursors include jazz and beat poetry, from Langston Hughes to Gil-Scott Heron, and soul-funk artist James Brown. The transition from these earlier currents to modern rap music probably began in Jamaica and in New York City influenced by Jamaican immigrants, then continued to develop as an indigenous part of New York street culture and spread from there.
Well once there was this man with an alcohol and sex addiction. He also talked really fast, so fast that hardly anyone could understand him. He got so fed up with people saying "What?" that he decided to record himself talking instead of speaking to actual people. Then when he died (from a dr.g overdose) a music producer found his tape and decided to make a song out of it. That music producer was later shot and killed for ruining music forever.
back when it started was when african-americans were going trough racisim and conflitcs so they invented this new genre called rapping where they would talk about the pain they were going trough in there life and the racism nowadays rapping change and its horrible
well not all hip hop is bad. I listen to Korean japanese chinese hip hop and hip hop frm HK and old school hip hop like run dmc, grand maste flash etc and they got tallent.
I think it started with Blondie ? She did a rap in her Rapture. Either she was the first to rap, or the first woman to rap. I can't remember.
