He just randomly stopped talking to me?

So this guy and I had been talking..not for a long time at all probably only like a couple weeks. It started when my friend had told me to talk to him because he apparently had a major crush on me. He seemed pretty cool and I thought I might as well see if he’s a cool person by talking to him. As we talked I realized he was a really cool person, he liked some of the same stuff as me, same music, you know all that..we had a lot in common which i think pulled us together more i guess you could say? Then a couple weeks later he told me he loved me, being me I was NOT ready for the L word yet considering we barely knew each other, so I said ‘awh’ I didnt know what to say..that probably wasn’t the best response but I honestly did not know what to say..after that he stopped texting me..stopped making contact with me, pretty much forgot about me. I couldn’t get him out of my head so I decided to text him first, i asked why we had stopped talking and he said he was ‘sick’ I’m not saying that it’s not true, but it’s just making me confused. He was tweeting all day that day too..can someone tell me if i’m over reacting?
