Questions about glasses and astigmatism...

Is there any way to heal astigmatism?? If so, please tell me!

Is it bad if you don’t wear your glasses when you’re supposed to? I have astigmatism and used to wear glasses…I still should, but I don’t because I look horrible with them, and I have really low confidence when I wear them. I tried getting contacts, but couldn’t get them in…I was about to try again but one of my contacts dried up since I hadn’t tried in a while. Has anyone else had this problem?

Please help! Glasses look good on some people but not me…

Astigmatism is caused by a cornea with an uneven, or curved surface, and ts causes you to see a difference in the way horizontal and vertical lines are focussed. So, reading, for example, is a big issue without your glasses.

If you don’t wear your glasses, you can get headaches. But the astigmatism will not get worse because of that. Your glasses correct your vision, and that’s all they do. They don’t stop your eyes from getting worse.

As mentioned above, contact lenses are your best bet. They’re very easy to get used to, and the small amount of inconvenience of lealrning to put them in, is well worth it. Find a different optometrist - they’re not difficult to put in.
