Okay so here's the problem. I'm bipolar and am medicated for it. Now my issue is that I don't have many episodes anymore but I find that I tend to have the most episodes when I'm around my dad. So my question is, is it possible for someone to cause a bipolar person to have episodes?
Bipolar episodes ussually occur when you have a stressor in your life. Anything stressful can be a stressor, and lots of things can cause an episode. The best course of action would be to relieve the stress between your dad and you (Counciling, ect) and that should reduce the number of episodes. Its also important you take your medication as prescribed by the doctor. Missing doses will only make things worse.
I have suggested counseling to my dad and he replied with "I don't need counseling to tell me what I already know". So he refuses it. But I do always take my meds and they help but not completely. No one understands it. My momma is bipolar as well and she says "I'm bipolar and I can control it so you should be abnle to too. But everyone is different. No one really understands. Thank you for your response :)
I'm bipolar as well. And I too get episodes around my step dad. I think that the reason I have episodes with him is because we have fought so much. I explode at him over minor things. And I think it's because of our horrible past.
Mine does, well my ADHD, if I get around someone like me it gets worse. Maybe your doc could best answer your question but I think it's possible
