moms ex boyfriend got rid of my puppy, should he get me a new one?

I had a dog for a little less than a year. My moms ex boyfriend get rid of him before he moved one day whille I was at school. Do you think it is his responsibility to get me a new dog?

Answer #1

I checked the websites, and I called, they said that they havnt gotten a dog in. I have been talking to my mom about getting a new one. I want a cairndoodle. they are really small but cute. but hopefully I can get this one.

Answer #2

what a jerk! demand a puppy…you don’t get rid of a dog because you don’t like it…by now it has probably been put to sleep in a shelter or being abused by someone… if your old enough…move out and get your own…wait…ex boyfriend? he has no right to do that!

Answer #3

call the local pounds or put an add in the paper explaining the situation and that you want your dog back!

Answer #4

If your mom let him do it, there is really not much you can do now. Also, if he lived with you for a period of time– during that time… that WAS his house. If you want to get technical– if your mom doesn’t own the house, it is not HER house, YOUR house OR his house. If she does own the house, it is HER house, not YOUR house. You merely live there. If the dog was important to your mother, she would have prevented him from taking the dog. It is likely something they discussed beforehand and came to a decision together.

There is nothing you can legally do, if that is what you are asking. Hopefully the dog found a nice new home. Perhaps you can talk to your mother about getting another dog.

Answer #5

Okay, well, there is nothing you can do at this point. The dog is gone. I’m sorry. Ask your mom about getting a new dog.

Answer #6

Do you live with him? If its his house, it’s his rules. And if you mom is okay with it, then it sounds like they came to an adult decision.

It is not his responsibility to get you another dog. When you are 18 and live on your own, then you can get a dog.

Answer #7

well, he lived with us, so it wasnt his house, nor was it his rules. I had the dog when he moved in. he no longer lives here. but I think the least he could do is get me a new dog. my puppy was a gift to me from my friend before she moved to california. now I dont have him.

Answer #8

I’m sorry for you. He had no right and you have to tell your mum this. You are more important than him, and he was your dog not stupid boyfriends.

Answer #9

he took him away because he didnt like him he said he got hit by a car but I know thats not true because he is always put on a chain. and if he took him to the pound than we have to spend tons of money to get him back. and its probably too late now.

Answer #10

Why did he get rid of him??? Where did he take your dog, if you find out where, you could always try and get him back.

Answer #11

he took the dog while it was just him here, my mom kicked him out because he was acting like he owned the house.
