How can you tell if a quiet student has problems (like mental promblems, ie depression)?
One of my students doesn't have any friends in her class (I have seen her with friends from another class) so she doesn't talk that much. How can I tell if something is bothering her?
You talk to her and ask her. Usually you can tell from the response. Just let her know that she's been really quiet in class and you've been wondering if anything was going on or if there's anything she'd like to talk about.
Do you have a school counselor? Teachers at my school send kids down to us all the time, sometimes it's a just in case situation. That might be a solution. And good for you for noticing. A lot of times teachers dont care.
nothing is wrong with her she just shy and it takes her a while to warm up to new people or maybe she just dosent think she has anything in common with the people in her class so why bother with them
you just have to reaad her like body language and every thing you cant realy tell but if she has friends ten there is probably nothing wrong!
probably nothing is wrong. if she doesnt have any friends in that class then she just has noone to talk to?
she might be really shy, I used to be like that sometimes.
