Why do the prices of an item on Amazon.com change so frequently?

I visited a link to an item on Amazon.com a total of 3 times, in less than 10 minutes. The prices were different each 3 times. First it was $11.99, then $6.99, then it was $9.00.

Yes, I am sure it was the same item, all three times.

What is going on?

I’ve noticed it too. Perhaps it is ‘dynamic pricing’. Lots of companies tend to change the prices of their products depending on the time/holiday etc. It’s quite crazy and way of manipulating the buying habits of consumers but it’s legal. =/

SOme things come into style out of no where, making the price for that item higher, and they go out of style just as fast, lower the prices again. When things become in higher demand the become more expensive and vise versa. :D
