Pregnant ! need advice on something!

okay so im in my seventh week of pregnancy and I still haven’t been to the OBGYN because me and my boyfriend dont have health insurance yet. im not sure how expensive the visit would be without it but I assume expensive with all the tests and exams and equipment they use. we’re looking into getting insurance and will hopefully have some soon. I really want my baby to be healthy I was wondering is it safe to start on prenatal vitamins now eventhough I haven’t talked to a doctor yet of should I deffinately wait

There should be a womens center around you somewhere. Look in the phone book for centers or clinics near you. It’s free if your under 18. They’ll help guide you through everything you need to do. You should start the prenatal vitamins. My doctor always asked me at my first checkup if I started to take them yet. Where I live most doctors don’t see a pregnant woman until the 12 week, unless their are complications. Most states have help for pregnant mothers with no insurance. I know mine does. With my first child I ended up calling a pregnancy hotline and they told me who to contact about free checkups. This helped a lot because my boyfriend couldn’t get me on his insurance and I had just started a new job with no insurance for the first 3 months.
