How do I begin getting prenatal care?

After been sick every morning a tests just confirmed that I’m pregnant and even though it wasn’t expected me and my boyfriend are thrilled, how do I go about first scans and such? I’ve booked an appointment with the doctor in two days time, do they sort out hospital scans etc? Also, is there any way to kinda of deal with morning sickness? I know its a normal part of pregnancy but is there anything I can do to stop me running to be sick at work or anything?

Only sensible answers please, not ones about ‘I’m throwing my life away young’ Thanks Erin :)

awww im so excited to hear that :) like the previous entrys the morning sickness will go away. if it gets to serious go to the hospital but you should call your doctor as soon as possible to schedule a check up I know wit my babies they wouldnt do an ultrasound until I was atleast 9-14 weeks but that myabe just my doctor just call and make an appointment and prenatal vitamins I was told to take over the counter perscreption.or talk to your doctor and see what seems the best for you until then they might even give you a perscription to hold on until then do not drink coffee and dont eat to much fish there is going to be a lot of stuff you cant do but its worth it for a healthy baby and once again CONGRATS!

hey girl im not gunna lecture I had my son at 16… LOL… and I was really sick for the first 3 months then it pretty much went away… over time you will learn what you can handel… what you can eat what vitamins make you sick and such… try asking your doctor mine gave me some pills that helped but not all doctors perscribe them… and as for you doctor expect a pap smear… and your doctor sticking his/her fingers in you every visit… It sux but it feels all better when you get to see your baby on that monitor during your sonagram… good luck if you have anymore questions just ask me I am happy to help a new mom

The doctors office will set up everything for you. They will let you know at every visit what will go on during the next. Dont feel shy to ask them anything! I just found out I am pregnant too! This will be my 4th birth. I had a son who passed away 2 years ago but I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and I am so excited! The only time I had morning sickness was with my first but you could do what crazychic said or keep crackers by your bed so that as soon as you wake up you can start eating them. They will settle your stomach. Carry them with you and it will help. Good Luck and God Bless!
