I hardly ever download from the web at all. That's evil.
I rip all my old CDs to my HD and convert them to mp3. That's a backup. That's necessary. CDs can break.
Then I borrow my HD to a friend and he borrows his to me. Because he agreed to offer some of his disk space to me for an external backup. You know, so that my music isn't lost in case my home burns down. Or in case my computer explodes and the splinters hit my CD shelf. And I agree to offer some of my disk space to him. For the same reason. Then we do backup service for each other.
And of course I have to check the functionality of the files that I backed-up for my friend now and again. For example by listening to them. Of course if you do that for several friends, then your have to check the functionality of a lot of music files.
My friends are, as a matter of course, all of them completely trustworthy, honest, lawful people and none of them would ever ask me to backup any file if he does not own the CD. Nor would they ever copy the back-ups of my other friends music collection when I give my external HD to them.
Listen on youtube, if you like the beginning then search it on google followed by "Mediafire". Mediafire is a quick and simple download site that requires no sign-up or payed accounts to use (unless you are uploading of course.)
u have asked a good question. i have downloaded many songs without listening to them in the first place. only 2 of them were crap. rest were excellent. its cool by taking a bit risk while downloading. :D
Well I used to download then listen but we kept using too much Internet and I ended up having to pay more obviously, so now I listen then download so I only download what I really want.
I usually listen to the preview on itunes or look it up on youtube because I dont want to buy a crappy song wen i could have used the money for a great song instead

To be honest that is what youtube is for...to listen. Then you have programs to convert them from...who needs to download now a days...we all have mp3 players..
I always listen to like 5 or 6 of the same song to find the best quality of sound and video. :D Then I download it! :D
i rather listen then dowload cuz if i dont like the song...what's the point of downloading it?:)
I prefer listening and then downloading to my I-pod, so it doesn't take up space on my I-pod.
you can still get it on your computer though ill teach you how...really easy..chin up girl♥
Listen then download then u don't download something that messed up
I have to listen to a song before downloading it.
