Postnatal checks

Hii =] x I’ve just had my first little baby 6 weeks ago and its now time for my postnatal check! I am dreading it sooo much beacuse im really scared that it hurts.. does it? and what happens in it.. also I will be given my first smear test and im terrified that will be sore too..please help! x

nothing, but nothing is worse than childbirth hun lol! especially a smear, they’re a little uncomfortable, but necassary and over very quick (good tip is put your hands into a ‘fist’ shape and put them under your bum…it’s raises the pelvis up, but any descent nurse should tell you that…)…

six week check is more about seeing how you are doing, rather than the physical aspect. your uterus should be back in shape now and any perenial cuts should be healed. baby’s feeding should be established and you should be getting some sort of routine, that’s basically what they’re checking for…

relax, and enjoy your baby :)
